
SWIM ACADEMY FAQs
Q1: My child has already taken swim lessons at TAC, do I need to register for the new Swim Academy?
A1: Yes. We’re using a new system and everyone must get their account set up and register for the new Swim Academy classes in the new system. (An email was sent out Friday July 11 with the placement for all current students. If it has been a while since your child's last lesson, they will need to be evaluated. Email [email protected] if you need placement information.
Q2: I lost my email with registration instructions - where can I find them?

Q3: I don’t think I used all my passes from Amilia – which I paid for – how can I use them?
A3: Any remaining class credits will be posted to those accounts who REGISTER for Swim Academy the week prior to your session start date.
Q4: Help! I’m trying to register, and I don’t see any open slots on the dates/times I want!
A4: Sorry, that means you will need to select a different time/date slot.
Q5: Help! There aren’t ANY slots available at all!
A5: You may register and will be added to a waitlist. You will not be charged a registration fee for the waitlist.
Q6: Help! I scheduled my child for the wrong session!
A6: Don't worry. Register your child for the CORRECT session and then send an email to [email protected] requesting that we cancel the WRONG session.
Q7: What is the age range for Swim Academy classes?
A7: Classes are for ages 4-10. Private and semi-private lessons are available for 3 year olds and 11+.
Q8: My child has a birthday which would age them out of a particular level – what should I do?
A8: Register your child for the level appropriate for the age they will be at the beginning of the month.
Q9: I have a swimmer on the TITANS Swim Team. Do I need to create another account?
A9: No. You will use the same SportsEngine (formerly known as Team Unify) account for both Swim Team and Swim Academy.
Q10: Can my swimmer take a class and private lessons at the same time?
A10: Yes. Swimmers may take both classes and private lessons, but know that skill checks will only be completed in classes.
Q11: Where do I find out more about private lessons?
A11: Click here to learn about both Private and Semi-Private lessons. There will be a link on that page to sign up for either.
Q12: Can my swimmer come once per week and pay half price?
A12: No. All classes are packaged in 2x/week or 3x/week monthly sessions, depending on the class.
Q13: When will I be billed?
A13: Registration fees are paid immediately for classes. Monthly fees are billed up front on the 1st day of the month for each session. Billing recurs monthly until/unless the swimmer drops from the program.
Q14: How far in advance can I drop from Swim Academy classes?
A14: You must drop by the 20th or you will be charged for the following month. You must submit a form in order to cancel - CLICK HERE.
Q15: My child missed a few classes, will I be able to schedule makeup classes?
A15: No. There are no makeup classes in the TITANS Swim Academy.
Q16: I see that there’s a “Prep Track” and a “Development Track”– what’s the difference?
A16: The Prep Track is part of the Swim Academy. Classes are designed for swimmers to learn to swim and develop/build skills. Prep Track classes have in-water support at most levels. The Development Track is a part of the competitive swim team program and is for swimmers who are already proficient in the four competitive strokes.
Q17: I paid for registration in the old program, why do I have to pay again now?
A17: Due to the move to the new program, we are resetting everyone and starting fresh. Don’t worry, you will not pay another registration fee for another year from the date you pay.
Q18: I need to sign up for an evaluation, who do I contact?
A18: Email [email protected] to request an evaluation.
Q19: I still have questions! Who do I contact?
A19: Email [email protected] with your question - please be as specific as possible - and someone will get back to you.
Q20: I got an email from a different address: [email protected]. Who gets that one?
A20: Both emails go to the same place - you can use either one. :)
